This year’s Bosch ConnectedExperience (BCX) took place on May 13-15, 2019. More than 700 developers competed in a broad variety of challenges, ranging from Mobility and Manufacturing to Buildings and Utility Cross Domain and Social Impact.

#1 Mobility

ShipMe is an end-user powered, decentralized logistics service marketplace. Find the fastest or cheapest way to get your parcel delivered by private bikers.

Hack winner: PopbeyUse

#2 Manufacturing

PopbeyUse is an end-to-end process for Equipment as a Service (EaaS). The billing is based on consumption of machines and data. Thus, it offers a flexible pay for outcomes and pricing for operators.

Used hardware & software: Nexeed Production Performance Manager, Bosch Rexroth CytroBox, influxDB, SAP Brim, AWS

Hack winner: 410Gone

#3 Buildings

410Gone is an equipment and asset tracking system for hospitals. Starting by checking smaller equipment in one room, and expanding to bigger equipment that is shared among many rooms, validating movements with location data and facial recognition.

#4 Utility Cross Domain

Use a fast, automated, precise-fire fighting device to fight fire at its source. The solution detects fire sources precisely in a room without false alarms and fight the fire with an on-site “foam cannon”. Thus, the solution reduces overall damage and protects priceless artefacts.

Hack winner: BestBugs

#5 Social Impact

Insects are considered highly nutritional and thus are a key to stop malnutrition worldwide. BestBugs supports farmers in growing insects on a big scale by controlling humidity, temperature, and the breading status.

Hack challenges 2019

#1 Mobility

Vehicles equipped with cameras and sensors are connected to the cloud to share and receive the data they collect on the road. Attendees were able to join this challenge and kick-start the next generation of connected cars.

#2 Manufacturing

This hack challenge was for people who are passionate about making Industry 4.0 happen, and who wanted to get actionable insights that benefits production experts.

#3 Buildings

This hack challenge came with a wide range of hardware that connects to the Bosch Connected Building Platform. Attendees joined this hack challenge to change the way we live, work and use buildings!
